Best Pet Friendly Hotels in Delhi for Every Budget 2026

disclaimer

I lived in Delhi with my dog for years, and we stayed at a number of these pet friendly hotels. We tried most of them before moving to Delhi, but we still return each year and sometimes end up in one of these for a night or two.

The best areas of Delhi to stay in with a pet is South Delhi or parts of Central Delhi. These are the greenest and most affluent areas of the city.

My top choices for pet friendly hotels in Delhi:

Where Not to Stay in Delhi with a Pet

Avoid Old Delhi and the neighbourhood of Paharganj where there is a lot of budget lodging. Paharganj is the backpacker area of Delhi, next to the New Delhi Railway Station.

Both of these areas are extremely noisy, congested and not pet friendly at all.

Although these properties currently allow pets, I recommend contacting reservations before making your booking to confirm their pet policy has not changed.

Most hotels charge a fee for checking in with a dog or cat.

Pet Friendly Luxury Hotels in Delhi

These Delhi pet friendly hotels have the amenities a business or leisure traveller would expect at this price point. Of all of these, the Ambassador is my top pick because of the neighbourhood and easy access to Lodhi Garden.

  • Jaypee Vasant Continental: 5 star hotel located in the upscale South Delhi neighbourhood of Vasant Vihar. Excellent spot next door to the Priya Complex with numerous shops, restaurants, bars and a movie theatre. A large historic park (great for dog walking) and the Delhi metro are within walking distance. Central, but also reasonably close to the airport.
  • Ambassador, New Delhi: Heritage hotel in a lovely neighbourhood near Khan Market. Even if you don’t have a pet, it’s a great hotel to stay at. One of the reasons this is one of the best pet friendly hotels in Delhi is its proximity to Lodhi Garden, the most beautiful park in Delhi and terrific for dog walking. Excellent location close to many sites.
  • The Connaught: Lovely art deco hotel with a central location ideal for leisure and business travellers. It’s next to the British built commercial and retail hub, Connaught Place. Numerous shops and restaurants in walking distance. Deluxe rooms look directly into Shivaji Stadium. If this doesn’t appeal, request a superior room on the opposite side of the hotel.
  • The Leela Ambience: This is the most luxurious of these hotels, but it’s technically in Gurugram, not Delhi. It’s close to the airport and Cyberhub where many international companies have their offices. The Leela Ambience does not usually allow pets, but if you are staying 7 days or longer, you can stay in the residence section which does allow pets. This is what I did.

Pet Friendly Mid-Range Hotels in Delhi

These are smaller properties located in residential neighbourhoods of South Delhi. Both of these are excellent.

  • Bungalow 99: A luxury guest house tucked away in one of Delhi’s best neighbourhoods, Defence Colony. There’s lots of small community parks nearby for dog walking, and the Defence Colony market has many great restaurants and shops. Each floor has a living room, kitchen and verandah for 3 guest rooms. Guest can book one room or an entire apartment.
  • Bungalow 157: This is the sister property of Bungalow 99. It’s in the same upscale neigbourhood, Defence Colony which is a great location to stay at, and quieter for a pet. There’s complimentary breakfast in the cafe. Each floor has 3 guest rooms, a common living room and kitchen. Guests can book the entire floor and use it as an apartment, or a single room.

Pet Friendly Budget Hotels

There’s no shortage of budget accommodation in Delhi and these are the best ones that allow pets. Both of these are located in Hauz Khas Village, a trendy urban village in South Delhi.

The village itself is not great for dog walking, but it’s right beside one of Delhi’s largest parks, Deer Park, which is very good for dog walking.

  • Minimalist Poshtel & Suites: Basic Japanese/Scandinavian inspired hotel in Hauz Khas Village. The hotel has a variety of rooms ranging from capsules to full apartments. There’s a communal kitchen and rooftop terrace.
  • Let’s Bunk Poshtel & Suites: This Hauz Khas Village hotel is a cross between a boutique hotel and an upscale hostel. Rooms are minimalist but comfortable, and there are plenty of common spaces. The hotel offers a variety of rooms from pods to full apartments. There’s an onsite cafe and rooftop terrace. I think it’s a bit tired looking, but it’s a good pet friendly option at this price point.

Pet Friendly Hotels by the Airport – Aerocity

Aerocity is perfect for anyone on a layover and there are several pet friendly hotels. You can be at the airport terminal in minutes. Most hotels offer airport pick up and drop off.

Aerocity is a haven of better hotels, restaurants and shops, all in a walkable and easy to navigate setting.

While these hotels are pet friendly, Aerocity itself does not allow pets in the shopping or restaurant areas. However, there are wide sidewalks for dog walking.

Practical Tips Before Booking a Pet Friendly Hotel

Here’s what to keep in mind when booking and staying at a pet friendly hotel in Delhi:

  • Advise the hotel you are bringing a pet when making the reservation
  • Most hotels charge a pet fee
  • Check there are no weight limits regarding pets – some hotels have restrictions
  • Keep your pet on a leash in common areas of the hotel
  • Request a quiet room further away from elevators and high traffic areas – people walking past your room and other noises may alarm your pet
  • Pets should drink bottled or filtered water in Delhi

Airbnbs in Delhi with a Pet

Another option is an Airbnb. Some of them will allow pets. Now that I don’t have an apartment in Delhi, I usually stay at Airbnbs.

Most Airbnbs are located in residential neighbourhoods which are quieter and better for pets. But not all of them allow pets.

On the Airbnb site, you can add ‘allows pets’ as a filter in the search option. Even if the listing says it allows pets, you should message the host before booking to confirm your pet will be welcome.

Last Words on Best Pet Friendly Hotels in Delhi for Every Budget

There are pet friendly hotels in Delhi at all budgets. I don’t consider Delhi very pet friendly (too much noise, pollution and traffic), but it does have everything your pet could need. So if you prefer to travel to Delhi with your pet, bring him/her along.
