I don’t know why, but I was totally caught off guard by how nice and massive some of the shopping malls in Delhi are. They are better and cleaner than so many malls in Canada. If you love mall shopping, you are going to enjoy your Delhi experience.

And one of the best things about the Delhi shopping malls? They’re climate controlled! That means heat in the winter and full AC in the scorching summer. It’s not hard to spend a few hours relaxing in a Delhi mall.

Best Shopping Malls in Delhi

1. Select Citywalk

Looking into the central atrium of Select Citywalk shopping mall in Delhi
There’s no need to go anywhere else – Select Citywalk has everything

This is Delhi’s most popular shopping mall, and with good reason. It’s very central and has everything you could possibly want. Select Citywalk is where all the latest international brands set up shop: Apple, Pret a Manger, Tim Hortons.

You will find loads of international and well known Indian brands here, like Nike, the Body Shop, H&M, and FabIndia. There’s fabulous restaurants, a large food court, coffee shops, beauty salons, a grocery store, foreign exchange, ATMs, PVR cinemas and a family entertainment arcade.

You can even hire a shopping assistant to carry your bags for you while you shop! There really is no need to go anywhere else. On top of that, it’s connected to the shopping complex DLF Avenue Saket. There’s often a festival or live performance in the mall’s outdoor courtyard.

2. DLF Avenue Saket

This Delhi shopping mall is attached to Select Citywalk. It’s smaller than Select Citywalk, but has some good shops.

What locals really like are the dining options at DLF Avenue Saket. Some of Delhi’s most popular restaurants are here like Saket Social, Perch Wine & Coffee Bar, Haldiram’s and Cafe Delhi Heights. Lots of people (myself included) shop at Select Citywalk and then move over to DLF Avenue Saket to eat.

3. Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj

What makes this mall so great is that it’s connected to two other really good malls, DLF Promenade and the luxury DLF Emporio. It’s located near Vasant Vihar, one of Delhi’s best neighbourhoods, so it’s the preferred mall of anyone in the area.

Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj has a number of high end to budget shopping options (including international brands), a large food court, cinema, children’s play zone, restaurants, grocery store, beauty salons, a spa – pretty much everything you need. And if they don’t have it, you’ll probably find it next door in the other two malls.

4. DLF Promenade Vasant Kunj

Out of the 3 connected malls (including Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj and DLF Emporio), I think this is the best one. It’s a really nice mall, and it has an excellent selection of international brand shops, like Adidas, Marks & Spencer and Sephora.

The dining options at DLF Promenade Vasant Kunj are fantastic – everything from McDonalds to one of Delhi’s best cafes, Big Chill Cafe. There’s lots of international and Indian food places, plus my absolute favourite ice cream kiosk, eMoi. After shopping and dining you can see a movie at the deluxe PVR Icon cinema. There’s also a kid zone.

  • Hours: 11:00 am – 10:00 pm, daily
  • Nearest metro: Vasant Vihar (Magenta line)

5. DLF Emporio

DLF Emporio is the best luxury brand shopping mall in Delhi. It’s beautiful with lots of gold, marble, crystal chandeliers and natural light.

You can shop at all your favourite luxury brands here: Chanel, Dior, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry, etc. Some very high end Indian designers have shops here also, Ranna Gill, Suneet Varma, Gaurav Gupta plus others.

There’s a lovely cafe in the atrium, and a couple of other restaurants serving light meals.

Valet parking, complimentary hands free shopping, concierge services, and on-call money exchange are available. DLF Emporio is a full service shopping experience.

6. DLF Mall of India

This is a huge mall in Noida, which is basically a suburb of Delhi. It’s the second largest mall in India and has everything, even a full children’s fun zone and bowling alley. Spread out over 7 levels, you can shop and dine until your heart’s content.

Over 100 international shops, many high end and mid-range Indian brand stores, a grocery market, over 50 eateries (including the excellent Indian restaurant Made in Punjab), a cinema, and all kinds of services, this is one of the very best shopping malls in Delhi, and certainly the best in Noida by far.

I used to live not far from DLF Mall of India and this was my go-to mall for everything, and not just shopping.

7. Ambience Mall Gurugram

Ambience Mall Gurugram is home to India’s largest indoor skating rink

Ambience Mall Gurugram was the first mall I ever visited in India, and I didn’t even go there for shopping. I went for ice skating! Ambience Mall is home to ISKATE, the largest indoor skating rink in India.

Besides the skating rink, Ambience Mall Gurugram has a cinema, over 230 international and Indian shops ranging from high end to popular brands, a huge food court, and many great restaurant options. In fact, some of my favourite eateries are located in Ambience Mall Gurugram: Laduree, Haldiram’s, PAUL, and Harajuku Tokyo Cafe.

If you’re coming to Delhi on business and want to indulge in some premium retail therapy, stay at the luxury Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel. It is immediately next door to the mall – it takes about 1 minute to walk between the two.

  • Hours: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm, daily
  • Nearest metro: Moulsarai Avenue (Rapid metro line)

8. The Chanakya

The Chanakya is for high end shoppers. This exclusive shopping mall is in the heart of Delhi’s Diplomatic Enclave. It is a haven of luxury fashion, fine dining and entertainment. It offers concierge service, hands free shopping, a personal shopper and valet parking. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in grandeur.

International high end brands such Hèrmes, Chanel, Tiffany & Co., Rolex, Mont Blanc and Indian luxury brands Ranna Gill and Anita Dongre Grassroot are located here. Even the cinema is super luxe! There’s a couple of very nice restaurants and a cafe in the atrium.

  • Hours: 11:00 am – 11:30 pm, daily
  • Nearest metro: Bhikaji Cama Place (Pink line)

9. Omaxe Chowk

Omaxe Chowk is worth seeing even if you aren’t a shopper – it’s beautiful

Omaxe Chowk is an opulent mall that opened in 2024 in the most historic part of the city, Old Delhi. The mall created a lot of controversy, many fearing that it would take away from the historic charm and essence of the old city. But I have to say, it’s a gorgeous show piece of Indian heritage.

Shops and food offerings are predominantly Indian brands, and the mall truly is beautiful with gorgeous chandeliers, marble floors and painted ceilings in Indian motifs. Even if you aren’t a mall person, you should visit Omaxe Chowk when exploring the sites of Old Delhi.

  • Hours: 9:00 am – 9:00 pm, daily
  • Nearest metro: Chandni Chowk (Yellow line)

Claiming a VAT Refund When Departing India

Non-resident foreign tourists may be eligible for a VAT refund when departing from one of India’s international airports. There are requirements for minimum spending amounts on qualifying goods within a specific time frame.

I recommend you research this ahead of arriving at the airport. VAT refund is something new, and government paperwork is not always straight forward.

The Wrap-up on Shopping Malls in Delhi that Shopaholics Will Love

Malls in Delhi are more than just for shopping, they are dining and entertainment complexes. It’s easy to spend the better part of a day in one of these malls, especially if you see a movie, eat a meal and do some shopping.

I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the selection of shops and services. There is almost nothing you cannot buy in the capital city anymore. The shopping malls in Delhi will satisfy even the most discerning shopaholic.
